What Are The Causes Of Ovarian Cyst ?
There are a variety of causes of ovarian cysts. Under the normal menstrual cycle, ovaries develop cyst-like structures called follicles each month. The reproductive hormones, like estrogen and progesterone that are needed for pregnancy are the responsibility of these follicles. Ovarina cysts often form from follicles that are normal but that continue to grow for an abnormal length of time.
Follicular cysts are the more frequently occurring types of cysts. They are generally viewed as harmless and often have no noticeable symptoms. They generally disappear in the same manner that they appeared without any intervention or treatment. General causes of ovarian cyst altering the follicles happen when the pituitary gland releases hormones to help the commencement of the release of an egg which in reality does not occur. Moreover, the follicle keeps on growing and forms into a cyst.
Some normal causes of ovarian cyst can be attributed to when the luteinizing hormone surges and an egg is released. When an egg is released, the burst follicle will produce reproductive hormones such as estrogen and progesterone as a prelude to conception. At this juncture, the follicle is given the name the corpus luteum. The next development is that the egg seals off and fluid is retained in the follicle so that the corpus luteum expands and becomes a cyst.
A corpus luteum cyst will often disappear of it's own accord without resoting to medicine or treatment, although it could grow to 4 inches in diameter during just a period of a few weeks. It could also bleed internally or twist an ovary. Should the corpus luteum cyst rupture this may lead to internal bleeding and possibly sharp or excruciating pain.
It is important to note that the fertility drug clomiphene citrate, which is commonly used to induce ovulation, might be one of the causes of ovarian cysts, since it can often increase the risk of the development of a corpus luteum cyst. However, Corpus luteum cysts do not jeopardize or rule out pregnancy.
Some cysts, for example the hemorrhagic or endometrioid cysts develop in the same way as other cysts but are given this classification because they contain blood. This blood can stem from an injury or even the leakage of blood vessels into the egg sac. Causes of ovarian cysts forming in the endometrial tissue include bleeding and sloughing off of endometrial tissue that transplants itself in the ovaries. Blood eventually builds up, rupturing and causing pelvic pain.
In many cases the causes of ovarian cysts could be due to the normal functioning of the body so it isn't possible to completely prevent ovarian cysts. However by taking care of your body, such as increasing exercise, controlling stress, improving the quality of your diet, and improving your health, you can significantly minimize the probability of the development of an ovarian cyst.
